The ZenFone 2 cover is crafted with an outstanding metallic hairline finish that creates a metallic look and feel when you touch it.  It also has an incredible slim profile, at 3.9mm at the thinnest edge; it is thin enough to make it old easier for a 5.5-inch smartphone.  On the rear bottom, you can find the speaker mesh with 0.4mm hole of each that Asus claim to deliver the best sound quality. The ZenFone 2 comes  in Osmium Black, Sheer Gold, Glacier Gray, Glamor Red and Ceramic White colours

  • Display:

The ZenFone 2 is a 5.5-inch smartphone that fits in the body of a traditional 5-inch device. It has a 72% viewing area which is bigger than that of Iphone 6 plus’ 63.8%. The cover glass is made of one-piece of corning gorilla glass 3 that makes it look like a mirror when it is not awake. The ZenFone 2 is equipped with a high-resolution 1920×1080 Full HD IPS display that offers a wide 178-degree of viewing angles. It has a whooping 403ppi pixel density to ensure every image is in eye-delighting detail. ASUS also included its TruVivid Technology which brings color and brightness that is up to 400% than its predecessor.

  • Performance:

The ZenFone 2 has one of the quickest touch experience compare to most android devices out there. The ZenFone 2 provides a no lag experience when clicked on the icon or dragged the screen. Playing games would be much better because of its responsiveness. The ZenFone 2 is powered by an 64-bit up to 2.3 GHz Super Quad-Core Intel® Atom™ Z3560, and equipped with up to 4GB Dual-Channel DDR3 RAM which ASUS claim’s to be 3x better, 7x faster with gaming experience than its predecessor. This also results to slick web surfing, smooth video playback, great gaming and multi-tasking. Dubbed as the world’s first 4GB (RAM) Smartphone, you don’t have to worry about multi-tasking because doing that in this phone is a breeze.

  • Camera:

One of the features of this phone boast is its camera performance. The 13-megapixel, 5-element lens rear camera module is equipped with blue-glass infrared filter. It also comes with a f/2.0-aperture lens and back-sided illuminated high-sensitivity BSI CMOS sensors that support raw domain noise reduction. The ZenFone 2 has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera that comes with an 85-degree wide-angle lens that can shoot sharp selfies and clear video chats. Moreover, the ZenFone 2 front facing camera now supports Low Light mode and Zero Shutter Lag. The ZenFone 2 also introduced a Full Manual Mode, in which you can adjust all the settings of the camera manually like it’s a DSLR in the palm of your hands.

The ZenFone 2 is Android 5.0 out of the box and has the brand new ZenUI™ for its interface. ASUS ZenUI™ has more than 1000+ of distinguish features compared to the standard Android user interface. The brand new ZenUI™ offers a simpler and smarter user experience, with stylish new layout that expands white space for a cleaner design.

  • Early Verdict:

The Zenfone 2 will surely be a great competitor in the smarphone market. It’s definitely nice to see this phone come in the PH market. The metal-like finish of the back cover makes it quite eye-catching, with these specs and aggressive pricing, this could penetrate quite a number of market with no problems at all. What Asus needs to do now is market its Zenfone properly. I am very much looking forward to have an actual unit for the full review in the next coming weeks.
