Red Cross Youth Academy: What’s in it for you?

Greetings in the name of Humanitarian Service!

Red Cross Youth Council – Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila Chapter is now open for the registration of new members and volunteers. Registration is until AUGUST 28 only so register now!

Now, what exactly does RED CROSS do? Over the course of time, people have always associated Red Cross with blood, and they’re not wrong. Well, not entirely. Red Cross is not merely a blood bank, they provide six basic services namely: Blood services, Safety services, Health services, Psychosocial services, Disaster Management Services and the Red Cross Youth.

If you want to know more about the services that Red Cross offers for the public, you may visit their Facebook page: Philippine Red Cross. And for the PLM RCYC, please visit their Facebook page: PLM – Red Cross Youth Council.

Being a Red Cross Youth member will not only expose you to these things but will also empower you. How?

The Manila RCY will hold the 1st Manila RCY Academy with the theme: “Empowering Manila RCY Leaders in Shaping Manila RCY’s Future”. This activity will be held on August 30-31, and September 6, 2015 at the Lyceum of the Philippines University.

This year, the Manila RCY will train and empower around 600-800 students from different colleges and universities around Manila. The Academy will hold three courses: Leadership Development Training; HIV AIDS Prevention Education and; Substance Abuse Prevention Education. The program will also include Pledge 25.

Enrolment fee for THE ENTIRE three day activity will be Php50 for RCY members, inclusive of all activity materials but you have to bring your own food, which isn’t actually a downside because you get to eat what you want. And Php150 for non-members which is INCLUSIVE OF MEMBERSHIP.

Also, this coming September 10, RCYC- PLM Chapter will hold a Pledge 25 Seminar and Activity, AND A GENERAL ASSEMBLY for all PLM members. Be there on time guys! 1-5pm at the Justo Albert Auditorium.

So what are you waiting for? Register now!

On a personal note, I think this will not only benefit you as a student, but also as an individual as well, given the trainings and seminars that they offer.

For any other questions and concerns, please contact Ms Camille Llorente, RCYC-PLM Chapter President and Manila CYC Chair for LDP and YITC at 09361296512.
